In this context, fundamental physical properties of matter, such as the refractractive index, conductivity, or resistivity, are studied using terahertz spectroscopy. The lectures will begin with basic concepts a of light matter interaction, in particular, how such concepts are used to determine refractive indices of varying susbtances, like semiconductors, magnetic samples, or liquid water.
