PRÜFUNG: Praktikum GOALS: The students expand and extend their knowledge in the area of renewable energy systems. They learn how to apply theory, as known from several lectures, to renewable energy sources. They be come able to configure, analyze and optimize renewable energy systems and associated basic power electronic topologies. They take parasitic effects as well as restrictions following from layout, structure and materials relevant for renewable energy systems into account when designing and operating such sys tems. They discuss properties and future development of renewable energies on a scientific level, preparing them for work in industry and academia. CONTENT: The practical course analyses the operation of energy conversion systems with special regard to renewable energy system using a combination of si mulations and laboratory experiments. Operational characteristics are discussed based on measurements and analysis of characteristical quantities. Seven experiments (partly simulation, partly test bench) cover photovoltaics, wind energy, energy managment in decentralized systems, cha racteristics of basic power electronic topoolgies, grid conditioning techniques and the intergration of renewable energy.
